Delta Sigma Theta sorority offers three national youth enrichment programs dedicated to fostering the development of young girls and boys. These programs include Delta GEMS, Delta Academy, and EMBODI.

National Programs

EMBODI:
The EMBODI program aims to address the challenges faced by African-American males. It focuses on areas such as STEM education, culture, self-efficacy, leadership, physical and mental health, healthy lifestyle choices, character, ethics, relationships, college readiness, fiscal management, civic engagement and service learning. The program provides guidance, support, and resources to help these young men reach their full potential.
DELTA GEMS:
Delta GEMS was created to build upon the success of the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy. This program focuses on helping African-American girls ages 14-18 reach their goals. It provides activities and support to develop their confidence, skills, and future plans. Delta GEMS is implemented by Delta Sigma Theta sorority chapters, and it helps participants discover their unique strengths and potential.
The goals for Delta GEMS are:
- To create compassionate, caring, and community-minded young women by actively involving them in service learning and community service opportunities.
- To instill the need to excel academically;
- To provide tools that enable girls to sharpen and enhance their skills to achieve high levels of academic success;
- To assist girls in proper goal setting and planning for their futures in high school and beyond; and


DR. BETTY SHABAZZ DELTA ACADEMY:
Delta Academy was founded in 1996 to address the challenges faced by young girls ages 11-14. It aims to improve their academic performance, self-esteem, and future prospects. The program provides additional educational opportunities and support to help these girls succeed.
Delta Academy chapters across the country offer a variety of activities, such as after-school programs, workshops, field trips, and cultural outings. These activities focus on subjects like math, science, technology, leadership, and personal development. The goal is to prepare young girls to become confident and successful leaders in the 21st century.
